: No Vin Numbers in ’36. Instread this was stamped to the firewall. It is a “body dash number” or “body serial number” also known as a “thief-proof number”

February 19, 2012: Tail Lights

Opened the package that came with the car today to look at the tail lights. Pretty good shape. Might need the bracket on one of them to be fabricated. Pictures attached.

Part two check out the tail lights! First pic is the driver side light. The license plate bracket is broken. So we will need to find a replacement. The second one is the passenger side tail light. Can you tell what is wrong with it? Yeah neither could I. The opening you see on the top of the light housing is for an up light to the license plate.

1936 Packard Passenger Side Tail Light Housing

Since this is the passenger side there should not be a plate bracket (or plate for that matter). So in the past this has been replaced by someone that did not know what they were doing. Will need to start searching for a replacement.
