New Gas Tank
The original tank was rusted through in spots and corroded through the inside. We decided a replacement was the best option. Best yet, we found that the ’77 charger has a very similar size tank. Just 1/4 taller in profile and 1/2 inch more narrow. The fill tube is in the left rear of the tank and the sending hole is in the front. Best part of this polycarbon replica, it will never rot out on us!
We made custom mounting straps that fit right up to the old bolt mounts. Before final install we will coat the underside of the trunk with some printers rubber to minimize rattle.

Not sure if you’re monitoring this site, since it doesn’t appear to have been updated in a while, but I’m wondering where it is that you found the replacement tank? I’ve searched the internet, and not found the tank you show above. Any help would be appreciated, as we’ve got a 39 Packard in need of a tank.
Yes, I still do monitor it and really do have a lot of updates to add! As for the gas tank, it has been a while but I believe we ordered it online through an aftermarket mopar parts dealer. I’ll look around to see if I can find the ticket/invoice.
