Today we brought the car home. Still plenty of work to be done but it is great that she can move under her own power. You can get a real sense for what she will look like when done.

What have we been working on lately??? Perfect fit! The donor car is a 55Chevy roof. Little work on the wheel and it looks like it has always been there! Check the gallery for close ups!
Finally have something attached to the custom block hugger headers!
View from under the engine.
Back through the cross member and around the tank to the fender.
Through the splasher and under the fender.
New Gas Tank
The original tank was rusted through in spots and corroded through the inside. We decided a replacement was the best option. Best yet, we found that the ’77 charger has a very similar size tank. Just 1/4 taller in profile and 1/2 inch more narrow. The fill tube is in the left rear of the tank and the sending hole is in the front. Best part of this polycarbon replica, it will never rot out on us!
We made custom mounting straps that fit right up to the old bolt mounts. Before final install we will coat the underside of the trunk with some printers rubber to minimize rattle.
The wheels are in!!!
Aren’t they awesome? American Racing 16×7. With Goodyear Eagle LS 265 60 16.
Here is how they look in the fender. We will be adjusting the leaf springs once we have some weight in in to get the wheel centered.
And on the front. Very happy with the way these turned out!
Column is installed. We used the column from the Nova including the mounting bracket. Custom hangers constructed to hold the column in place. We used a Lokar shifter for the 700R4. Needed to do very little adjustments to the original position in the floorboards. Seats are just placed in there for now until we get the rest set up. Then we will mount them permanently.
The engine is back in. Will be looking around for some new valve covers to dress it up!
